Beyond the Dream
"Beyond the Dream" is possibly Steve's most sensual, very likely his most romantic and definitely his most accesible album ever. It is also his most diverse and colourful effort: There's a touch of the 80s, vintage synths sequencing, jazz, pop and dense soundscapes. Pieces are short and structured, yet full of suprising details and feature crystal clear melodies and even Steve's very own singing - with a voice that will remind many of the great Eric Woolfson of the Alan Parsons Project. Why on earth "Captains of our fate" did not make it to the charts will remain an eternal mystery. Its unmatched positivity will remain an inspiration, as will Steve's unbroken optimism: "Covered people pray, fearful of the day/ Changes can be made, lovers can be saved/ All of us are captains of our fate"
